Saug-For-All
A Summer Camp for Adults

Welcome to S.A.U.G., a Simply Amazing UU Gathering at Dekoven for 2017 - August 5-11, 2018 at Dekoven in Racine, WI

We'll be going to Dekoven Center in Racine, WI with beautiful comfortable rooms, buildings that feel like you are transported to historic England, with parklike grounds.  The food is great and they're able to handle special diet needs.  It's located next to a park along Lake Michigan.  There's a gorgeous beach on Lake Michigan with some dunes about 3 miles away.  The grounds are full of majestic trees and gardens.  They also have air conditioning available in most of their meeting and dining areas (and the AC is adjustable).  At Dekoven we're able to have a more intimate camp experience where we have those serendipitous meetings that are classic 'Saug'.

Cabins: Dekoven has beautiful peaceful rooms, each similar, but unique, in pastel colors and labeled with inspiring attributes like 'enlightenment', 'love', 'patience' and 'creativity'. Taylor hall where we all stay is located in the back of the property next to a small woods and facing a parklike quad with mature trees and a labrynth.
Each room will generally house 2 people, occasionally 3 singles will share a room if needed. Some have room to push the single beds together to make a double sized bed for couples. Sheets and towels are provided (unless you double up your bed, where you'll need larger top covers). Each room has unique comfortable furniture, high ceilings with ceiling fans and at least one window. There are a handful of bedrooms available with air conditioning. Bathrooms are located on each floor, some single baths, some shared.

Cost: The camp week will cost $550 minimum. This includes housing, meals, snacks, workshops and entertainment. Extra fees may be charged for special room features or for some workshop materials. Camp fee is generally due about one month before camp once room and group assignments. A $25 processing fee will be charged for cancellations.  Horseback riding is extra at Nissokone.

History: Saug-for-All was founded in 1999 by Joan and Jon Lager. Jon and Joan had both attended AMUUSE singles camps and wanted to continue their wonderful camp experience by creating a camp for all adults whether single or married.  Sadly, Jon passed away in the spring of 2002 but Jonís values, spirit and love live on in our camp community.
